Hello there!
This is a quick introduction into my blog.
The blogging world is new to me so I ask for your patience as I familiarize myself with the blogging world.
For the month of January I will be blogging about the Black Lives Matter Movement in America.
I will be talking about this movement and tying it into the Christian faith. It may be an unpopular belief, but I strongly believe that faith does have something to say in these important matters of humanity. (If you're wondering why, I encourage you to read the 'Why God' page).
I am a young, middle-class, white woman and there is nothing I can do about that. However, I have been studying racism in American, the Civil Rights Movement, and hate crimes for a few years now. I need to stand for my brothers and sisters of color and I want these blog posts to:
stand in solidarity with all of the marginalized, abused, and oppressed,
work towards reconciliation,
be honest about the short comings of the Church in the world and especially of the shortcomings of my fellow white brothers and sisters throughout history
call a thing what it is!! (a Lutheran specialty)
January's blog IS for a seminary class, but if all goes well I hope to continue the blog after that.. the class might come to an end, but unfortunately the problems of this world will not.
If you read my blog, I strongly encourage commenting on posts! The conversation will truly be the most important part of this project. Whether you agree, disagree, want to play the devil's advocate or anything at all, I ask that you please don't hestitate to speak up! :)
